Chocolate Christmas Truffles

I give these decadent candies as gifts to my friends. It's inexpensive, but oh so good. I give them in tins with a mixture of other goodies. I usually do 3 per tin, so this will make 12 gifts, when combined with other food gifts :o)

Chocolate Christmas Truffles

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

6 ounces semisweet chocolate
4 ounces cream cheese
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon extract -- flavor of your choice
baking cocoa, powdered sugar, coconut, chocolate shavings, nuts, sprinkles, etc -- for garnish

Melt chocolate in microwave on high for 60 seconds. Stir and continue cooking on high for another 30 seconds or until completely melted.

Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and continue beating until well-blended. Stir in chocolate, vanilla and extracts.

Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Shape into 1" balls. Roll in cocoa, sugar, nuts, etc. or dip in melted chocolate. Store in refrigerator.
